Taxonomy access semi-compatible with category

The categoryi module has just been tested with the popular taxonomy access control (TAC) module, and the results are mixed. Access to assigned nodeis is controlled correctly through TAC, but creating new assigned nodes and viewing node listings is not being controlled at all. This behaviour should prove adequate for many situations, but obviously is not adequate for everything.

Assigned node count now available

Category_display now has a new option, called show assigned nodei count in TOC. When enabled, table of contents for categories and containeris will show the number of nodes assigned to each categoryi that's listed. A database upgrade has been provided for category_display, and the creating a basic hybrid structure tutorial has been updated to include instructions for using this new option.

New admin title field

In the latest version of categoryi, containeris now have a new field called 'admin title'. This field can be used to differentiate between containers that have the same title. In administrative interfaces, the admin title is shown instead of the actual title, if it is defined. The creating a basic hybrid structure tutorial has been updated to include instructions for using this new field.

Category works with Organic Groups

Since I'd seen that some people were unsure whether Organic Groups and Category are compatible, I thought you'd all be pleased to know that I'm testing them together, and so far they're playing quite nicely together.

Legacy export now available

The categoryi_legacy module now supports exporting your categories and containeris to the taxonomy and book modules. This is a feature that's been sitting in the queue for a while, but it's now complete. You probably won't need to use this feature, as the taxonomy and book wrapperis are able to maintain all your category data in the taxonomy and book systems as well. But in case you need to do an export back to these modules, now you can.

Taxonomy and book fixes applied to category

All relevant bug fixes that have been made to the book or taxonomy modules over the past month, have now also been applied to the categoryi module. This brings the category module in line with its core counterparts, which have more eyes looking over them, and are therefore more likely to have patches submitted for them.

Printer-friendly content available

This site has just had the brand-new categoryi_export module installed on it. As a result, logged-in users can now view a printer-friendly version of any category or containeri on this site, along with all of its children! Just click the 'printer-friendly version' link at the bottom of most pages.

Improved menu API hits Drupal core - thanks to category_menu

The Drupal core menu API has just been improved, with this API upgrade patch having been committed less than an hour ago. This patch was developed out of categoryi_menu needing an interface that would let it play directly with the menu database table. The category_menu_api_* functions that previously existed in category_menu have now been removed, and all calls to these functions have now been replaced with calls to the core menu API functions!

Google starts indexing this site

Up until now, entering the text "site:categoryi.greenash.net.au" on Google returned only one result: the front page of the site. But I just tried doing this again today, and Google now returns 4 pages of results for this query! Hooray: the site is now being indexed by big (friendly?) brother!

Codefilter and urlfilter installed

To further improve the site's documentation effort, and to ease the process of writing pages for this site, the codefilter and urlfilter modules have been installed, and are now enabled for the primary input format.
