Site changes

Changes made to the categoryi module web site (this site).

Upgrade and codebase changes

|

As you can see from reading the announcement on GreenAsh, this site has just finished undergoing a much-needed upgrade. The codebase has been upgraded to the latest stable version of Drupal 4.7. What's more, this site is now sharing its codebase with that of GreenAsh.

Upgraded to 4.7 RC3

|

This site has just had its first upgrade in over three months. The site is now running Drupal 4.7 RC3 (i.e. the newest version of Drupal on the planet), as well as the latest CVS version of categoryi. This upgrade also brings the functionality of the activeselect module to the site for the first time.

First beginner tutorial available

| |

This site now has a new tutorials section, and the first beginner tutorial for the categoryi module is available there now! The tutorial is called 'Creating a basic hybrid structure', and it is designed to walk you through setting up a commonly-used category structure, and to teach you the basics of using the module along the way.

Printer-friendly content available

|

This site has just had the brand-new categoryi_export module installed on it. As a result, logged-in users can now view a printer-friendly version of any category or containeri on this site, along with all of its children! Just click the 'printer-friendly version' link at the bottom of most pages.

Codefilter and urlfilter installed

|

To further improve the site's documentation effort, and to ease the process of writing pages for this site, the codefilter and urlfilter modules have been installed, and are now enabled for the primary input format.

Images can now be posted

|

The categoryi module web site has just gotten a whole lot jazzier! The image and img_assist modules have just been installed, allowing you to upload image nodes to the site, and to insert them inline into your pages.

Site codebase upgraded

|

The site's codebase (which is the same shared codebase used for the demo site) has been upgraded to the latest Drupal CVS snapshot. This fixes a number of important bugs that were popping up on the site, and also introduces the brand-new resizable textarea functionality. What's more, a few problems on the demo site have been fixed, including the absence of collapsible fieldsets.

Ticker added to demo site

|

I recently noticed, from my admin logs, that there was one unfortunate user who created a number of categories and containeris on the demo site, a mere two minutes before the site was reset. This user had no way of knowing when the reset was going to occur, and was probably more than a bit annoyed when all of his/her content vanished much sooner than he/she probably expected.

To avoid problems like this in the future, a 'ticker' has been added to the master template of the demo site. This ticker tells you how much time is remaining until the next reset. So now, if there's only 5 minutes to g

Demo site launched

|

The categoryi module demo site is now officially launched! If you saw the previous announcement, you'd know that the site has actually already been live for over a day already. But up until now, the site was not (as it claimed) resetting all its content every two hours. Now it is!

Demo site is up - but don't tell anyone!

|

The demo section of this site (running as a sub-separate site, actually) is now up and running: but don't tell anyone it's there just yet! The 'demo' page doesn't yet link to it. This is because the demo section isn't quite ready yet.
